Q: Is it as easy as it looks?
A: Yes and no. Like riding a bike, getting started takes a little understanding of the vehicle and practice to establish appropriate muscle memory. The best way to do that is to take the introductory class that we provide with each purchase. Once you find your “sweet spot” riding can be very easy. Yet riding can burn up to 500 calories per hour. Obviously you’re not going to do that without putting forth some effort, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a more fun way to burn calories at that rate.
Q: What model should I buy?
A: There are many factors that go into choosing the best carving vehicle for your needs. Trikke Tech provides a size chart to assist in the selection of your vehicle. While this is a good starting point, we recommend actual hands on time with the various models to see which one best fits your body type and riding style. Call to schedule a time to test ride the various models and experience which size works best for you.
Q: How do I know I’ll like it?
A: While everyone we’ve shown it to so far has enjoyed it, the only way you’re going to know for sure is to try it for yourself. Call to schedule a time for a test ride and let us show you how much fun it really can be.
Q: What if I find out I can’t ride?
A: While some people get right on and start riding, some of us find it more challenging. We are here to help you get started. You can learn with us before making your purchase, and if you buy your Trikke carving vehicle from us we have a commitment to work with you until you have learned the techniques you need to enjoy your new carving vehicle. Since we have a focus on working with special needs populations, we are experienced in working with people who have a particularly difficult time getting started.
Q: What if I get it and don’t like it?
A: Trikke Tech and Trikke Manassas place high priority on your satisfaction. If you are not satisfied for any reason with your purchase, we will gladly accept your return according to the return conditions set forth in our Return Policy.
Q: Can I rent a carving vehicle first to see how I like it?
A: While we don’t currently have a rental program in place, give us a call, schedule a test ride, and we will explore options with you.
Q: I have some disabilities. Will I be able to ride?
A: Without knowing your specific situation we can’t directly address how the Trikke carving vehicle will work for you. We do focus on special needs populations and are happy to work with you to see what we can do. You do need to be able to support yourself in an upright position. In most cases if you can walk you can learn to ride.
Q: I have balance problems. Is the Trikke stable enough for me to be safe?
A: Again, we would need to evaluate your specific condition, but the three wheel engineering of the Trikke carving vehicle gives it superior stability. Riding encourages you to use your body in a way that improves balance and coordination and is therefore excellent conditioning for many people with balance issues.
Q: Can I go up hills with a carving vehicle?
A: Riding up steep hills requires advanced techniques that are taught in the higher level training classes. Basic riding skills can get you up a modest incline. For steeper hills we recommend riding as far as you can then walking your carving vehicle the rest of the way.
